Wonderfully written Tim. You have a grasp of human nature with all the struggles and transformation that comes through grief. Hoping your new home and retirement brings you much happiness. We hope you continue to write!
Beautiful, Tim. Your description of Mother's emotions were palpable...as a mother of daughters myself, I felt her despair and bottomless heartache. I also felt yours, as you had to walk away from a case you poured time & energy into & so desperately wanted to see prosecuted. It's all such a game sometimes...like my profession (medicine), what should be about what's right & true often is mostly just about what's safest or easiest. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience with us. I read every word.
I am oddly invested in this story. I know that it happens in a hundred different variations every day all over the country, but THIS one...My internal sense of justice is angry and grieving for this mother. I want him to pay. I can only imagine being in your shoes.
Hauntingly beautiful.
The emotional intelligence on display here fills me with awe!
This story will stay with me. Thanks for sharing brother.
Shew.......got me tearing up. It's a true-life story.
The pain I feel as you tell the story.
Thank you dear.
